Failed to clear BCB message - A520F

View solution in original post. I cured it for me I guess this is the email account I assoicatiated with my new phone setup that will never die. What a PITA. Also, I want to say Peace Out. I think: go back to the store is not much of a solution, but I finally did go to the official Samsung repair service bc I couldn't find a solution anywhere.

My phone has a small crack in the backplate and is under warranty. I'm a software developer and I explained to them that clearly this was a software issue.

But they said "we may have to take it apart and you don't want it returned more broken than it already is". I know a scam when I see it. Shameful predatory behaviour by samsung. I contacted Samsung service afte this to complain and they said they would get back to me. That's a month ago now. Busy sending faulty updates and scamming consumers?

Did it get fixed, my problem is on a Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime. It was on Android Version 6. I updated it to Android 7.

Anyways, the problem is that my phone has 2 SIM cards on it. The first one works perfectly fine. Due to this my data connection does not work. I tried the recovery area and wiped my cache partion. It gave me that message. But after the software update to 7.Had the same experience, with the phone hanging on bootup and the same message in the recovery screen.

I see that there is an entry in the recovery menu for a firmware update from the SD card; can anyone suggest how that can be done? In case there's a next time. Hello respected members, I yesterday flashed that btu oreo rom through odin on my S7 edge GFDall went well and phone is working good, but in recovery there are these type of messages, I have seen on forums that many people are experiencing this recovery issue, is there a solution for it?

Apparently they don't effect phone in anyway or cause any issues, but still why are these messages showing? I am just worried about bootloops. I flashed through odin, the firmware is same for dual sim modelshence GF firmware works on GFD too, just be sure that model number is correct, i. If you still want that btu oreo, you can download the corresponding rom for your model from sammobile or updato for faster speeds.

But I suspect oreo update is halted and will be resumed again with these bugs fixed along with may update patch near the end of may globally. I received notification last week to update to android 8,but I didn't update and now when I check I don't see the notification anymore ,it says like my current version is the latest It is already mentioned that the update is no more available through OTA because its been pulled back from the server due to bugs in recovery, wait for the resume till the end of the may hopefully Sent from my S7 Edge using XDA Labs.

Show 1 more Show lessI was fiddling around with my phone today and wanted to clear the cache from the Recovery. I went to delete the cache, all went well until I was met with the same message at the end: Should I worry about anything?

The phone booted normally but I'm a bit skeptical about that error maybe the cause of my as of late noticeable battery drain? EDIT: Another thing to notice is that when booting into recovery, it seems the phone is trying to install an update which isn't there, and only then takes me to the recovery menu.

Everything you said I think is normal. So don't worry about it.

It still clears cache or whatever you do. I see, thank you It's a weird bug so that's why I was worried. I did read some reports that some users couldn't wipe data due to this in the Recovery and it got me a bit worried. Let's hope it's just a stupid bug and nothing more. Thanks again! Just like when new Android upgrades are released, some devices may encounter problems just like one case that we include in this post. My Samsung Galaxy S7, 2 years old, was auto-updated last night.

Solution: Hi Steve. The situation you are in right now is what Android community calls boot loop. There are many factors that can lead to this problem but in your case, it seems to be caused by the latest Android update that you tried to install.

Provided nothing happens when you restart your S7, the next good thing to do is to clear the cache partition. Android uses a set of storage partitions in order to work efficiently. One of such partitions is the cache partition where the system cache is kept.

When loading apps, Android taps the system cache so the task is done faster. The thing is, this cache can sometimes get corrupted after an update or app installation. To check, you need to clear the cache partition. Another good way to troubleshoot boot loop instances is by restarting a Samsung device to Safe Mode.

The Future changes shape! Meet the new Samsung smartphone! Hi Everyone, My phone asked for update then after update was complete it got turned on and it booted up to the encryption lock screen where it says to start up your device, enter your pin.

So I enter my pin and then its says, "verified" and then "starting android". At first, I let the phone sit to see if it would do anything but after an hour, I figured something is wrong. I dont know why this happened. I don't want to have to factory reset and lose all my pictures and data.

I have tried safty mode, but this also didn't helped. I really hope someone can help or knows what is going on because, I really dont want to lose all my pictures. Thanks you. Try plugging it in.

Also try to go to Android boot menu holding power up, power and home key at the same time for a while restartingfrom there power off, then power on again. I had it stuck on the white Samsung lettering on black screen for ages. Then when i plugged it in, it finally continued setup and now i'm oreo! I have tried this method twice now, left phone for about 10 hours but still nothing moving forward.

Do you know anyway of recovering data from a bricked phone? It's looks like you getting a lot of problems with your latest update It's redicilous that samsung is having troubles with simple softwere update.

So I believe it's nothin to do with Samsung. Android is made by Google and given to carriers EE, Vodafone, O2 who then play with it, add things to make it their own, test it and when they're happyy with it release it to us to install.

As this seems to be affecting people with different carriers i'm o2, you're EE this might be an android issue google not samsung. In any case Nothing was working, so i tried the option to factory reset it knowing i'd lose everything on my phonei knew that i didn't have much to lose as i've recently backed everything up to my laptop so only had a few bits to lose. This reset still didnt make it work. It only came to life after i plugged it in, went back to boot menu and chose to power it off.

By signing back to samsung and google on the phone, it brought back my texts, contacts, bookmarks etc, but only back to mid March, last time it did some backup it did it itself.

Question is what have you got on it that you'll lose and what has it automatically backed up without your knowledge to google and samsung cuz it does backups automatically most likely.

From the stage of it not working at all, i doubt there's a way to access it unless you had things backed up on memory card, in which case you just stick it in another phone or computer. On morning of Nov. Update was installed, all apps were optimized, and it seemed to be working fine. Note, it did not restart itself after the update, and as good practice I restarted device. Now device will not complete the boot and goes straight to Recovery Mode.

I have been able to get to Download Mode twice but don't know what to do there, other than Vol Down to reboot which only goes back to Recovery Mode. I've tried connecting device to my home PC with SmartSwitch installed, but neither the PC nor app will recognice that a device is attached no beep or seen in Device Manager. I don't remember ever turning on USB debugging as this is a complete stock device.

I've tried contacting Samsung Help Chat in my country and was told that my month old tablet is out of warranty, to take it to an authorized dealer of which there isn't even one in my city. This is rediculous support by Samsung to not take any responsibilty for pushing out a faulty update and essentially bricking a 1 year-old device that was working!

Apparently I am not the only one having this exact problem after the same update on same device by other similar reports on this forum:. Notes: Battery is fully charged, device is clean without many apps, all apps are updated, and it has nearly full storage available.

This is, other than my TV, my first android device and is leaving a bad tasted in the mouth. Warranty expires in a week. So frustrated. It went from installing a system update to just doa. Have you tried recovery mode? Also, was the tablet purchased in the US? Same problem here but have not found a solution.
